Exceptionally good honey cake from @no.5angelhill. Light, soft, and properly, gently honeyed. I declare this to be the best coffee shop cake in #burysteds
Stalwarts
Sweet baby Jesus, @woostersbakery took truffled Baron Bigod from @fenfarmdairy and baked it into their focaccia. On sale today at #burysteds farmers market. 🧀 😋 😇
I wanted to develop a recipe for spiced prune and plum porter cake and needed some expert advice so I turned to the award-winning @melissacolebeer, author of 'Beer Kitchen: The Art and Science Of Cooking and Pairing With Beer'. What she says about being a successful woman in a male-dominated industry is quite an eye - opener (although things are slowly changing). Click on the link in my bio for the recipe and interview. This cake is so easy (it's made in a saucepan before being baked in the oven), we're having it as our Christmas cake this year. There's a short guide to the best food-, related gifts in the print edition too.
Thank you @annalisabarbieri for leading me to the Elvis Bar from @solkiki_chocolatemaker. You can read Annalisa's chocolate column in The Observer every Sunday. Particularly enjoying chomping on shards of properly roasted peanuts.
